What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is the use of bioidentical hormones to supplement your body’s natural supply when you aren’t producing enough on your own for optimal health. Hormones are your body’s chemical messengers; they tell other parts of the body how and when to work. At Transcend Rx, we utilize BHRT pellets as part of our treatment plan to optimize hormone levels and continually release testosterone or estrogen in both men and women. The pellets we use are sourced from FDA registered custom compounding pharmacies. During a quick office visit, the pellets are subcutaneously inserted. Effects usually take place within four to six weeks after pellet insertion. Most patients start feeling the full benefits after the second pellet insertion.
BHRT For Men
In men, BHRT is most often used to treat an age-related decline in testosterone, also known as andropause.
